Benefits of Becoming a Broker as an Investor?

Hi All,

I am curious if any of you have thoughts on the benefits/drawbacks of becoming a licensed broker as an investor. Is there anything to lose from doing this? Seems like a good way to learn about the industry and potentially save some $ on future sales.

You waste two important things with this strategy:  time & money

Only do this if you like the idea of selling real estate as a job.  I know many successful real estate investors and none of them are realtors.  That is not to say you can't be both, but being a realtor is not a requirement for success in investing.

Also, in many states, you must disclose you are a realtor when buying property for yourself.  That puts some sellers on edge.
