Need to verify if loan officer is legit

Patricia Signor
Posted

We are applying for a 30 year loan to purchase STR in Florida. I found this loan officer on line because I wanted 30 years fixed and nobody local Will do that. The loan officer is asking for my personal property tax bill and insurance bill. I sent him the dec sheet for my home insurance and he wants the part that tells him the insurance price. I don't understand why he needs these things. I'm concerned if he is legitimate. I feel he is asking for too much info. what should I send to him and how do I see if he is for real?

Try using this link to check the loan originators NMLS status

As for sharing personal information... well that's just part of the deal but always best to know who you are working with.
