Im looking to get a multi and live in one unit and rent out the other (classic). But I dont have 2 years of tax returns as 1099. Trying to use my VA loan. Any tips?

Find a lender that will do a bank statement loan. @Nathan Shepard

    Some exceptions to 2-year rule if in the same line of work. Some issues if 1099 income is less than your W-2, but as someone else mentioned bank statement loan is a good alternative.
