Legal Zoom Deception

Good evening, all.

I just wanted to try to save someone/anyone/everyone thinking of using LegalZoom for the formation of an LLC or any service you may be considering. They have some deceptive practices in place, especially with their cancellation policies. For example, I tried to cancel my "Registered Agent" subscription before the renewal period, because I realized I really didn't need this service. When I saw the charge in my bank statement, I began a chat on their website to ask about it. The agent said that subscription requires a phone call in addition to cancellation on the website to "indicate the reason for the cancellation". This is not stated anywhere in the subscription verbiage and when I asked the agent, then asked his supervisor, they couldn't provide a reference.

It doesn't end here. I could go on about a few ways they misled me, but I'm trying to keep this first post somewhat brief. I'd be happy to discuss these other ways if someone feels so inclined.

I realize now that I never needed LegalZoom to start an LLC in the first place, and it's my fault for trusting them. But, please don't make the same mistake I did. Don't trust LegalZoom for ANY of your business needs. Go through your local SBA and/or government websites to obtain the proper documentation and do it yourself.
