JaxREIA is a great group, I was close to being on the board and I used to teach one of the Quick Start classes on Technology in Real Estate. I have all the respect in the world for Mike Duprel, the President, and wish the world was full of investors like Mike, just good people person!

I have many friends in JaxREIA and it is a good group of people, nothing wrong with JaxREIA, but I left because I did not like how they made their money on the backs of the members by bringing in so-called Real Estate Gurus who sell bootcamps and junk and basically give Real Estate Investors a bad name. So I left.

I appreciate Erik for launching this group and if we have enough people with good ideas, we can build a new Jax Real Estate group to compliment what JaxREIA is doing, as well as some of the other local REIA groups. I already know I can walk in with a major paint vendor and get everyone at the meeting at least 30% off paint, maybe more. Having these relationships locally, is what you should be able to seek, without having to pay a lot in membership or other fees.

You do not need a REIA to be successful, Bigger Pockets is proof of that, but every now and then, you need someone local or help you if you get stuck, so its good to have a local version of a BP, thanks Erik, invite your friends interested, it should be a great meeting.
