Deadbolt and locks
I bought a Defiant brand 5 pin deadbolt (keyed on one side) at HD for $10, but I was just researching online and it was recommended only to use 6 or 7 pin locks because 5 pins can be picked, so I'll probably be returning it.
I've looked at the Landlord locks website. That looks interesting, but I prefer to buy something where I can actually go to the physical store and look at things myself. Any recommendations on brands or types of deadbolts and locks I could buy at Lowe's or HD that are reliable and secure? I don't really want to pay a locksmith since there are three doors that this needs to be done to. Thanks.

Where in the world are you investing that you worry about locks being picked?
The preferred method for fast illegal entry is the mule-kick and no amount of pins stops that.
Personally I use Kwik Set on all rentals because it's easy to change cylinders with each new tenant.
Never had a single one picked. Half a dozen mule-kicked, though. And half of those were angry/drunk tenants.
