Having trouble tagging people who responded to my post

Can anyone help me out? I cannot seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong...trying to use the @ and then the persons name to respond to posts made to a thread I started. Have read suggestions and still can't seem to get it right. Anyone else experiencing this?
