I've recently ventured into the world of Real Estate Investing, through the Lending side of the business. I enjoy the entrepreneurial nature of REI, because it attracts the type of person that is creative and motivated. The market fluctuation keeps business forever interesting and everyday it's a new game.

I am a home owner who rented out an apartment in my house for 3 years. That ended when the town required all rentals to be registered and I found out I didn't meet requirements to continue renting.
