For a 7 day notice, they have to have not paid rent, damaged the unit, or caused a nuisance, unsafe conditions, etc. and for all except late payment, I have to have witnesses if they fight the eviction.

The pre-close walkthrough would demonstrate that the product being delivered is not the product you initially agreed to purchase.I would simply walk away at that point - no fighting over who would repair the damage.

If they did not pay rent for a while you will be fighting this forever with these folks.

No thank you.It's a risk, but my advice is get yourself a good insurance policy and trust that the City has better things to do than fight homeowners to take their MIL units offline.

@Jay C, You should fight back hard with the idiots elected to local government and work to have them removed every time a ridiculous proposal concerning rentals is brought up.
