I moved out of a condo and decided to rent it, found myself having issues that discourage me from looking at this as an investment in the future, primarily lack of control with a condo association:1. other units were owner occupied and they strongly discouraged me renting out my unit and I am concerned they may add new rules to prevent it outright.2.

Also, make sure the tenant's appliances are installed correctly to prevent problems, especially if it is a natural gas stove or the refrigerator has an automatic ice maker which uses a water line.

If you were to do business here the distance would prevent you from wasting time, and keep you far enough away from any rentals to keep you from self managing and going crazy=)Before you make up your mind about low income housing make sure you interview as many landlords that are familiar with it as possible.

Finished drywall is half the expense of grid ceilings, is more easily painted, and prevents renting residents from accessing your mechanical systems.That's more than two cents worth.  :-)  Good luck!

It won't prevent you from being sued if someone is so inclined, but it doesn't hurt and it might just stop someone from pushing bogus issues after closing.Just something to think about on the next flip.
