That's the new HUD guideline as "Felons", if they've served their sentence, are considered a protected class and can't be discriminated against such as: race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, or handicap.You can't even advertise "Criminal Background Check" in any listing. 

Anyone want to be a bit bold and suggest a fair split?

While it is true that it is greenish-black in color, many more common molds are also dark green to black in color.  

Also the last two I have done I actually painted the ceiling a color other than white for added effect.

If you feel the BPO comes in too high, submit repair estimates, color photos, comps, inspection, etc. anything that will help, back to the bank with your response to their counter.

Landlords cannot discriminate based on race, color, sex, or familial status, regardless of what that race, color, sex, or familial status is.
