The borrower is not personally liable for the loan, and the lender cannot seek additional repayment beyond the collateral.Since the borrower is not personally liable, they can choose to make larger or additional payments to pay down the loan faster if they wish.

And while grabbing an owner-occupied loan is typically a non-starter in a standard 1031 transaction, this is a mixed use property that does include a personal residence portion. 

Also, try to see if the lender will allow to buy under LLC for better assset protection; by doing personal gurantee. 

The critical factors in any STR are nicely themed rooms, a higher end game room, modern decor, and a good view from the pool area.
