You can also have a Corporation for additional protection.But you don't need it to get started.When I started investing, in 1999, I did 10 or so properties and then got an LLC set up.Due diligence is necessary.BUT - You don't need to spend a lot of time and money setting things up like you're a manufacturing facility.I've seen too many people do one deal and they're out.
