No point in taking on a life-long debt if the best you can do is HOPE to find a job that will make the payments and still leave enough over to feed, house and clothe one's self and a possible family. 

You represented that you could fulfill your obligations under that contract when you knew that you could not. 

When you start playing at making yourself more productive in “game mode”, it’s a lot more fulfilling.

Do I need to make up for that additional missing equity to fulfill the 80% LTV? 

Some of us are more interested in fulfilling our fiduciary duties than making a quick buck.

It's very fulfilling, but leaves a lot to be desired financially.

If you're not ready to commit to a life-long union, then you certainly don't need to buy real estate together. 

Don't get me wrong, I am extremely grateful for the job, blessed to have it, but I don't see it as a lifelong career, I don't think I ever have seen it that way.
