Get a house under contract and get 3-5 true bids (line-itemed) from contractors so you can see for yourself that $15,000 rehabs on most houses are hogwash.

My mom lives in a nice one but you will never see one on the market as a whole because they are built more like townhomes that share a wall or two (think a square divided into quarters that remain square) and are usually sold as individual townhomes.

Looks like they may not be interested in that, as they stated they have sold few such properties already.

I actually purchased the property, made it into a rental, and recently sold it, all without them ever being here in Florida.
