I am going to be doing some traveling soon and wanted to download some awesome podcasts to listen to on the plane.  

I read a recent blog post from a couple traveling Europe.

And when the same apartments is rented to a traveling salesmen, single, the water usage goes down 90%.And the answer for renters with visitors hangings around is to charge extra, which I include in the lease a per person additional rent for the duration of the visit.Believe it or not, DEP (water department) of NYC has a website where we can estimate water usage, and our usage is below average.

I live a few hours from SLC currently in South east Idaho, but have flexibility to travel down/fix up a place if I get it during the summer.Options: 1) Find a multi-unit, put some sweat equity into it and house hack for two years then rent out the owner occupied side when/if we leave Utah in two years.2) Find a single family, 3bdr, fix it up over the two years, then sell or rent when/if we leave Utah in two years.3) Invest the cash and just rent for two years.I’d love to do options 1 or 2, I’m prepared to do the leg work, but I want to get the communities opinion/advise.

For example, when you have two or more sellers (or buyers) that are not in the same location, you can dictate the order in which the document will travel from one signatory to the next.

@Robert Fornwalt  On top of property depreciation like mentioned already you could have advertising, auto/travel, cleaning fees, insurance, legal CPA costs, mortgage interest, maintenance supplies, and probably more.

At times, he travels for months at a time so we may also Airbnb the condo out.

I have a 9-5, and travel a good amount for work so I won't be able to do any maintenance myself.
