It is key with a parent corporation to know under what terms they will step in if a franchisee fails and for how long etc.Even with all those levels you have to watch out for how many units are giving the guarantee on the lease.

I watched an investor from NY go before the zoning board in that town to try to get approvals to rebuild a dilapidated property...they had the guy practically in tears by the end, rejecting him at every turn even though they had the power to approve it.

On top of that they stole some stuff when they left the job site..It's unfortunate to have people like that in his industry but they do exist and beginners have to really watch out for them.I'm trying to get some of my money back from this this guy..

Make sure with their company they do not push you off onto a newly hired inspector and demand you want the experienced person to conduct and look at the property.Sometimes the company has great experience but the worker is inept so you have to watch for that.Inspectors usually charge based on the sq ft of the house and if they have to crawl under a foundation or it has a basement etc.
