I've just gotten smoke with my first inherited turkey. 

From now on, before you rent the apartment you are going to check that there is the appropriate number of working smoke and CO2 detectors.

 ran into a kid at Home Depot this morning with 45 smoke/co detectors in his cart, so I guessed he was a LL.

He had smoke detectors in all rental houses.

I like traveling to Mexico more now, but I’ll probably just rent whenever we go there (unless I come across my dream property for a smoking deal of course).  

Tenant shall properly use, operate and safeguard Premises, including if applicable, any landscaping, furniture, furnishings, and appliances, and all mechanical, electrical, has and plumbing fixtures, carbon monoxide detector(s) and smoke alarms, and keep them and the Premises clean, sanitary and well ventilated.
