There may be an isolated pocket of good news here or there, but unfortunately the housing market is HORRIBLE (if you're looking at sales and price) throughout the United States.

Real Estate really outperforms largely due to leverage.As a crude example:8% return in the S&P 500 if you had $10,000 investment is $800. and if you could only put 20% down you'd return $800 on $2000 "down payment" or 40% return.Some  people like the truly passive ~8% return over the a little bit more work and little bit more risk and greater return.When you buy stocks, most buy them unleveraged, so to compare to real estate, an 8% cap rate on a property isn't horrible.

@Peter T.Yeah, I notice  (esp with the newbies) that it's always 'oh my realtor is so horrible' or 'my contractor is taking to long' or 'my PM is ripping me off 'When pressed for proof, it rarely, if ever materializes.Usually college kids with some book-smarts but zero common sense or real-world experience....jeeeez....

@Jonathan HulenI haven't had that issue, but since the redesign I've had horrible sorting issues and this other issue where all the sudden posts will just start moving around without me doing anything.
