My wife and I are both  medical professionals  and we make a decent income but we would really like  to get into real estate investing within the next couple years,  primarily  buy and hold multi family properties. 

Here are a couple thoughts for you.Management. 

I have also had clients who have gone a couple years looking to rent out space and our office building has been looking to rent out the same space for at least 5 years now. 

Then just a couple years later we sold the pub for very little.

I went to a couple of local workshops and decided that buying and flipping was too big of a place for me to begin (maybe in the future, I'm not ruling anything out).

I work with a couple very solid GC's.

My last PM was an individual who deposited rents a couple times a month but he left the field. 

The other half say "OMG that is awesome you lucky monkey".The funny thing is that everyone that tells me I am lucky owns a couple of thee (it is a row of ton houses), and are eager to find the owners of the other abandoned ones.That is what gives me courage to be honest.
