@Alaziz Bridgeforth for me what I would do is direct mail to the cash buyer and say I saw that you purchased a property at XYZ ( I am a wholesaler and I come across alot of deals in your area can you please give me a call or email me so I can add you to my buyers list ( abra-kadbrah) ( you have a buyer) also try fake craiglist ads ( something ( nickruiz suggested from his book flip)

If the trench is for catchment only, and not diversion of water, it will need to be massive, and may look more like a pond when full... but if you plant it right (native wetland plants) you should be able to handle huge amounts of water.
