@Drew Sygit maybe you misread or I didn’t properly explained.. surely I know Section 8 bares no responsibility while the tenant is gone, I was stating while she was still occupying the home, Section 8 cut off payments.Update: It was a mess but ultimately she was removed within the last month.

If you're contacting the appraiser directly from that website above, that means no appraisal management company taking a cut, so the net proceeds to the appraiser of, say, $450, isn't actually off what the net proceeds would be if you ordered an appraisal through a lender and paid $600.

I know they talk about this from time to time on the BP Podcast (and not usually in a positive light)...I took $$ out of my 403B for the down payment on the house WHICH will be repaid very soon after my ex-wife sells the house which we still own (my cut of that sale will more than cover the loan I took against myself...so all good).
