I do not want to pay $1000 again.Finally, if I legally pursued everyone who blatantly stole money from me or ripped me off in some way (builders, handymen, property managers), I would well and truly be up for over $50,000 in re-reimbursements.

Two, buying on ROI, even if they have a decent house in a decent neighborhood, either they or their property management company cut corners and don't maintain the house properly and it starts to look "rental-ish" in a neighborhood with lots of owner-occupants.Three, they or their property management company fails to adequately screen tenants, resulting in a trashed property that the investor may not reinvest in to fix up to neighborhood standards, becoming a blot on the neighborhood.Four, the property management company may blatantly rip off the investor, pocketing the rent, the repair funds, and renting out the now crappy house to any derelict who can pay a few hundred dollars a month.Astute local investors don't usually make these mistakes. 

Hopefully this blatant corruption ends soon and we can all get back to doing business. 

That they would try such a level of blatant deceit is unfathomable and is usually grounds to have someone severely dealt with -- if the tenants actually have proof of any of this.

If I was renting to this guy based on what you said, I would be on the fence since he doesn't Blatantly violate any of my conditions to rent but ultimately, go with your gut.

Lieing about the purchase price for the intent of obtaining a 100% loan when the bank is clearly only offering an 80% loan certainly looks like blatant fraud to me.
