My current plan is to purchase small multifamily homes (in and out of state) and eventually move into apartment complexes.    

Have to disagree with some of the commentary here regarding these additional subscriptions being a waste of money and/or too complex. 

I'll make the lead up short and sweet.

$15k is the sweet spot.

Maintaining a Series LLC will be easier than having multiple LLCs, but slightly more complex than having a single LLC.

Wanting to sit in front of your computer and push buttons and get sweet cash flow isn't going to work in this market. 

I am considering buying an apartment at the Acropolis, Queens, NY, a 600+ apartment complex in Astoria.

After doing a research in the area on the best buys, my property that I've selected is within a brand new condominium complex near the ski mountain.   

With the condos I know the financing is more complex and you can't do 10% vacation home loans, so I've avoided them.

There are multiple cities basically in the city of Columbus with higher quality school systems and equally high property taxes...Westerville, Worthington, Dublin, Bexley, and Grandview Heights are all "in" Columbus, but they are their own cities...taxes in these locations on a $300k property will run $7-12k/yr.The asset you are describing is not going to pencil out very well...what I mean is that a $300k property in one of these locations is not going to rent for $3,000/mo...maybe not even for $2,000/mo...there is a definite sweet spot here and for SFR it is between $135-175,000....nothing fancy...lower taxes and much better ROI across the board.
