I understand that in the long run, the investment is more than worth it, but it would nice to have a more accurate way of making projections.Am I completely off the mark in considering these factors or is it something other BP brothers and sisters have thought of? 

I have not flipped a home yet but,my brothers and I are planning to invest together to flip properties.

In my parents case, they were hoarders, so it took my brother more than six months to clear out the place.All in all, I think a sympathy card at this stage is the best thing, especially if she died last week. 

I have my brother who’s a realtor, managing it for us and charges us $300 to find a tenant and then 5% monthly.My plan was to get $10k for emergency fund for the house and anything after that, save up for another investment like you mentioned.

These are like your long term goals and by nature they are squishy: Be the best father/husband/ brother you can be, work in a career that makes your community a better place to live, become a world class Scrabble player.

Turns out I had my brother and another maintenance person over to look at the house and there was.
