I like to sleep at night and not have to worry about getting sued for something or having the IRS snatch my house or whatever else!

If owing money affects your ability to sleep at night, by all means pay it off.My point will be for the benefit of a different perspective for readers here to learn about the factors to consider in real estate and other financial matters. 

As Mike said, sacrifice those nights hanging out after work, sacrifice sleep.

Last week, we went and picked up some stuff in another state to bring to the house and when we got back to the house it was very late and we decided to sleep there although there were no beds, it was easier than driving to my current house that the lease hasn't ended on yet.

I did not want anyone feeling like they were being targeted.You guys continue on, gotta sleep for work tonight, will check in later.

If you're losing sleep at night over that, you should get out of this business.If they refuse to give you rent after you give notice, THEN EVICT!!

If you don't, you'll lose a lot of sleep.

There's nothing wrong with having enough money that you can afford to maintain a vacation home for yourself.The only thing is, you would have to be able to use it a lot, or it would make more sense to rent.Personally, it creeps me out to think of renting my vacation home out and having lots of different tenants sleeping in my bed.I'm looking at a winter home right now.

i.e. sleep in, walk to campus, no bus rides or parking hassles, stumble home drunk from the bars, etc.My leases are from August 1 to July 31, basically the school year.
