My question to the forum is this:Q: Because I failed to set the tone of managing the property like a business (office hours, system for collecting rent, etc.) should I let the lease of the current tenants run out and get new ones in?

They likely won't catch a problem with the plumbing or electrical which is hidden behind the drywall, for example.Lastly, remember that a home is a system, and how the components of a home system are working *together* is as important as how they're working by themselves.

Best bet is to get inspections and or professionals out to assess the systems and provide estimates.With the roof 20-50 years depending on the climate, area, type of shingle and type of roof.
