Younger airmen (since I can only speak to the AF) are largely in on-base dormitory style housing, but if they are married or have dependent children there is (often, but not always) the opportunity to live off base. 

Children in impoverished nations, with no access to a classroom or even a capable teacher, are now able to get a first world education.

Hand guns with children are seriously dangerous, but if they are legal, I don't complain.  

Indy has a lot going for it during different points of the year: biggest IndyCar race, huge NASCAR race, biggest drag race in the world, biggest children's museum, had the Final 4 here for a while (maybe still, I don't follow basketball), big art museums, etc etc. 

I have a lot to learn but I'm doing this to break generational curses and leave a piece of the pie for my children and retire early. :)
