I had a hard time giving a answer until we started selling and renting service enriched housing to the thousands of Baby Boomers turning 65 every day..I have watched the success of Florida with retirement communities.  

I had the same problem and ended up (reluctantly) getting my real estate license and got into commercial brokerage.Ended up being the best thing I ever could have done because.1- I got paid to learn from people who were very successful by watching how they analyzed and negotiated deals that I would bring them.2- everyday I talked to investors about their real estate needs and would always ask them how they got started, what advice would they give someone my age (26) wanting to own property.

Lets face it @Jay Hinrichs millions of people every day break laws they don't know exist. 

My commute to work is only 20 minutes but using that time to my benefit instead of wasting it on music is a great way to learn something new every day.
