Several factors play in to what you want to do with a short term rental such as business travel (NYC,SF), weekend get aways (La Quinta CA) to tourist destinations (Orlando FL).

Your tenants will try and get away with as much as possible, just like your kids.

You're not going to get away with you and your family setting up 50 LLCs and financing through different entities.
