If you want to buy a fixer upper or foreclosure and fix it up, there are also opportunities to do that.

The city was a bit too tricky for me although I really like Canton, upper fells point and butcher hills because it was close to Johns Hopkins and the turnkey home arent too bad, i was thinking to rent out to traveling nurses there.

Hello All,I recently closed on a fixer-upper behind my first property, a duplex that was owner-occupied before we moved out and bought a SFH. 

There's no PMI either (however the VA funding fee is essentially all of the PMI paid upfront).You can also do a VA 203k loan to buy a fixer upper for $0 down. 

What are the best resources to find fixer-upper homes in these under-developed and up and coming areas?

I went on RedFin and saw that there are very limited "fixer-uppers" and the ones that are available are very expensive.

I was there last year.. and went to look at our old family ranch in Upper Lake  ( 1,200 acres) my dad busted it up into 20s back in the day so its got homes on pert near every parcel.. but it was burnt over and many homes burnt down.

Since I don’t have enough saved up capital to buy a fixer upper, what are your thoughts on starting with a turnkey company to acquire the first property.

Should I do a fixer-upper 6-unit with hard money and try to BRRR it?

My plan, or at least what I was thinking, was to find a fixer-upper in a nice neighborhood and rehab it so that it appraises for more than what i initially bought for, thus giving me some equity.
