@Mike Nesnidal I do recommend that you frequent the local meet ups to get a feel for the active investor commnity in Minnesota. 

I would look at places you have lived in or have family in or frequent as your first location.

Account Closed I work as an agent in Denver and work with investor clients frequently. 

But I do believe with the patriot act if one is to be making frequent 9900.00 cash deposits your banker will be looking at it.. at least at my small community bank where we have our accounts. if its a big national bank I dont know how they handle it.

question for you - would your schedule and finances permit you to travel (frequently) to an OOS market to get started?

As a frequent flyer to the Tahoe area I definitely believe this house will kill it with skiers in the winter and boaters/lake enthusiasts in the summer.We manage 75+ properties in FL, ranging from studios at $80 a night to 5 bedroom beach houses going over $2,000 a night. 

When I enter a post and then subsequently hit the back arrow on my browser, it frequently takes me to old posts. 

Many also frequent some of the local investing clubs.
