After listening to episode 356 with Joe Asamoah his strategy sounds like a no brainer with Section 8.

Working with other investors, listening to BiggerPockets podcasts and reading several books, I decided to jump in and get started myself!

You will be pulled in many directions by salespeople but rarely listen to them or the Internet. 

I'm trying to get into real estate and all of the resources I've been reading/listening to have said some of their best advice was learning the market.

@Stephanie Drouillard I listened to a podcast the other day with Zach Beach as guest discussing creative seller financing strategies from buyer and seller standpoints and you might find it informative.

On the flip-side: The venue itself was expensive as were tickets, some of the conference rooms got crowded (understandable given the speakers and topics), not much social media engagement with attendees (makes sense because all the staff was working at the conference), and some of the topics were mostly geared more towards investor newbies... not so much to those who read BP books or watch webinars or listen to the podcasts regularly.

To get the ball rolling, I've listened to many of the BiggerPockets Real Estate podcasts, I'm reading Brandon's book; Rental Property Investing and listening to Rich Dad, Poor Dad on Audible!

I have been listening to the BP podcast for almost a year now and have learned a ton, and in september just got licensed in to do mortgages again.
