You can get very affordable housing rates in Barstow, however, the unemployment and economy in the area is quite low.Most of the Barstow area is on the rough side.

CNN /Money came with a national-per-state report on unemployment and foreclosure statistics which I find interesting. http://money.cnn.com/news/storysupplement/economy/gapmap/index.htmClick on the top left of the US map for per state unemployment and on the right for foreclosure info.It seems interesting to me that Florida which is on the top of the foreclosure chart, is only in the 5th place when it comes to unemployment.

Most are unemployed and receiving student stipends, something new of late.I know that there is 11% unemployment statewide, highest since measurement began, and probably closer to 15% in our area, but this is looking like a depression.I think it may be time to begin unwinding our market holdings as well, not that the dollar is actually worth anything.It is going to be a long winter!
