Just not an ideal layout.  

So ideally something that is or could be divided up into as many units as possible.

Ideally, I would like at least a decent stream of additional income on top of that, but I’ll settle for covering the costs of primary residence as a start.

Our property is single story with an ideal location (end of a cul-de-sac with a nice lot size in a nice neighborhood).i would do the work with my father (free labor :mrgreen:) over a weekend or 2 and we have some experience in finishing basements.

So finally when they do get to the point where they need to be socially and politically conscious and make a change they are neither smart enough nor creative enough to find ideal situations/alternatives.

I deal with many investors across the country and the above issues are a major concern.

We put language in lease about "excessive" utility bills but it's still not ideal.

Pretty much agree with everything @Rich B. has stated.not the most ideal position to be in.

I hear what you are both saying about profitability but I do have have a relatively small unit that will be ideal for this.

@Joe Villeneuve I completely agree with you that saving up the money to make the investment cashflow is not an ideal option.
