If you Google the articles on the Japanese buying the refinery, you will see there are much more incentives and benefits being afforded to St Croix than just reopening the refinery.

Also, they may not have to provide as many benefits if they have no employees, assuming they are an owner/operator.

The seller has to be willing and able to list the property and provide a crap ton of documentation.....for not much benefit to them.

They haven't seen much of the benefit of the stock market after getting hit by the 2008 stock losses.  

I am looking forward to the benefits REI can bring such as the flexibility and financial freedom in a space where I can contribute and be of service to others!
