If you don't like losing money and want to simply get yield on your hard earned capital then do it passively with a professional. 

You can't become emotionally attached to anything in this business because that's when you lose out on opportunity and money.

I assume the GC is at least a competent lead carpenter, so if the deal loses money or breaks even the other investors lose 10 - 20hrs of their time.
