If your home does not have those, which are something like $7.00 each, yeah I would much rather do the sheet-rock repair for adding those vs some goofy electronic system at the heating plant that adjusts flow, makes toast and sings a lullaby and does all of these things very poorly.

Don't plan on holding onto a large balance on the HELOC for a long period of time b/c those interest only payments could creep up depending on the landscape of the market.
