Wood doesn't really ever fail unless it's been compromised by cutting or moisture.

The classes in my neck of the woods take a few months due to classes only being a couple nights a week.

Custom rosettes can easily be made in wood, they can be applied on door and window casings, fireplace mantels, deck railings and over a garage door.

The garage originally had wood paneling, and it shows that it has been flooded at some time in the past also.     

I almost painted it white, but then a friend was saying how nice the wood looked.

Walk through the woods, go to the stream, garden, watch wildlife.... just relax. 

I agree deff not a crammed in design... i would do say on a 5 ac lot maybe 8-10 units only; giving them space in between and privacy;, but a common area for a firepit, grill and gathering; a walking path down near the brook with a sitting area; a bridge; and benches to sit and a deck to sit and read and have their coffee;  maybe something like a cabin platform for sitting out in the woods away from the homes?? 

Sometimes a water leak won't rot wood completely out but make it warp and sag beyond repair.
