Try looking for something listed as an SFR with a note in the description that is has a granny unit or studio apartment.

Below is a link that explains dual agency in a very basic sense, but your Realtor would be able to provide a more detailed description if it exists in Iowa. 

That description gives you a clue as to why the actual expenses are so low.

The description of the bill on nonprofit housing.org says "SB 1053 adds housing subsidy vouchers to the sources of income protected by California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act."

@Andy J.I am a little confused with the description and terminology that you listed.

From your description I'd get the 🐝 jeezus out of there. 

Also inform the tenant that you require a signed lease and you anticipate raising the rent to market levels.In reading your description of this property and the tenants, I just envision some difficulties in their vacating the properties (I hope not).
