Power was back before the fridge had cooled back down enough for me to shut down the generator and figure out if landing the grounds in the box would have worked or caused the GFCI's to trip.

I think its cool that you think of uncommon / not highly discussed topics and share them on the forums I think the phrase you used "backwards emergency fund" sounds very fitting in this case. 

@Pat Dansdill - I'll 4th upvote @Mark Ainley, I haven't personally had him manage any properties, but I only hear good things and know he is a great guy.If you have a bit of time on your hands you could also manage with some of the cool property management software as well.
