I was envisioning searching out inexpensive properties, travelling to them, staying in the area until repairs and renos were complete, selling or renting, then moving on to another property.Any information or ideas on how we could accomplish this vision would be greatly appreciated.Thank you.John

My advice is to stay away from sub 40K condos in the big cities in Texas.

A judgment stays on for 10 years and it can get renewed, but most creditors don't do that. 

That was 12 years ago and I am currently a stay at home mom with a 2 year old and an 8 month old.  

Vacancy period between tenants is 1-2 weeks and they typically stay 2-3 months.

To anyone unfamiliar they are offering a forgivable loan of 50% up to 40k for owner occupants for single family and duplex style houses contingent on staying in the home for 5 years.

Buy a house around 100k, rent it out and either stay at home with my parents or get an apt in a nicer area?
