In my experience flaky/squirrel-y people or people that are not well grounded in reality are pretty bad at hiding their true colors over a longer period of time.You are talking about a lot of money going in and, if you do it right, even more money coming out and a long time before you reap the benefits.

You hope at the end of 30 years you have a nice retirement nest egg but the reality is you have no guarantee that the money you have invested will even be there or it could actually lose value or not appreciate at all.
