Looking to house hack in NYC and buy multi families in more affordable markets to maximize cash flow.

Purchase price: $269,000 Cash invested: $20,000 First property ever purchased, House hacking a single family 2/1 house needing some repairs along with a recently remodeled 1/1 ADU which is currently rented out.

I am going to be 18, still of course living with my parents, and I am wanting to take out an FHA loan and house hack.

House hacking sounds like it would be your best option, but only if your wife is on board as well.

That is the cushion inherent in a live in flip or house hack opportunity. 

I bought a duplex house hack in North Austin and am renting out the other side as a monthly rental on AirBnb.

MFH advantages:  1)  Cost per unit will tend to be lower.  2)  Can become a house hack if tenants move out or right from the start if you're lucky.  3)  Can be part of the 4-3-2-1 Lumberjack Landlord strategy.  

I want to house hack in a safe community, preferably a duplex/triplex/fourplex.

Most likely houses hacking, maybe a mutlifamily or something.

Any encouragement/advice moving away from house hacking or contact with other investors in Cache Valley would be appreciated!
