It is a ranch with a finished basement.  2800 total sqft.  

I had been determined to get a house rented in "X" amount of time after the repairs were done so when someone showed up at the door and was really excited about the house before we were even finished I thought I had it made.

Though the listing boasts a finished basement and a two-car detached garage, it's definitely a fixer-upper.There's also an additional $6,000 of back taxes owed on the home, but that, like the payment method, would be open to negotiation.

Subtract $815 which is what I pay for mortgage, taxes, and HOA dues, leaves $235).I was planning to start seriously looking next year, since I am finishing up paying off all debt except the mortgage.  

You get half way done, have cost overruns, the labor guy doesn't show and you have to pay more to get it done, the material costs go up, inspector says tear it out and do it again or a million other things and you have a job half finished.

It was a condo conversion there began in January, finished in May and completely sold off by September.
