I think GnuCash is a great free accounting solution, and was fine when we only managed a couple properties, but after that we decided to go with Buildium, even though the accounting features were not as great the ability to tag transactions to properties and have everything integrated was a big plus.You can make it work, you just have to evaluate whether the free software is worth the extra effort.
