Not sure if you have any other capital, but I would imagine it would be difficult to obtain financing with a part time job.Do what I did -- finish your degree and then buy up a multi as soon as you can and live in one unit while renting out the others.

I was just there a week ago.. bit money place and totally under the radar.its not SF but its akin very much to my market here in PDX  its a 200 to 250 a foot finished product market.

But if there's enough pressure, it will come through that coating.As far as the walls, on this side of town, our code requires basement finishes in areas where there is any chance of heaving be suspended from the floor above.
