And can you absolutely lose your shirt if you buy on the wrong street in the wrong neighborhood even if the numbers look great on paper and that property has nice countertops? 

How is maintenance handled and what specific info is shared with owner & when?

My housekeeper can let me know if something is wrong, and then I'll call my handyman or the appropriate professional to fix it.
