(Gas leak and plumbing) What are some things you have ran into when dealing with this?

We assumed we could patch/repair the leaks, but after a few quotes it made no sense to Band-Aid it.

There were a LOT of issues with it (some rotting floor damage from a badly insulated crawlspace, pipe leaks, etc), so I was able to negotiate for $7,500 under my original offer plus $10k in sellers credits (covered closing costs and 3 mo's mortgage + taxes) How did you finance this deal?

@Jay Sheth I’ve had two 110+ year old mansions and I’ve had to deal with asbestos, 40 year old furnaces, old plumbing, knob and tube wiring, electrical that was on fuses which was up to code but would blow periodically and then if you didn’t have spare fuses it was a problem, roofs that got ice dams every year because the houses were only meant to be summer homes, under ground oil tanks, leaking gas lines.
