In addition to your comments above, do you have any other strategies or suggestions you have to accomplish this?

Am I better off looking at getting a business line of credit, or something similar to accomplish the same thing?

I also want to get new experiences and new knowledge so that i can tell about what i have accomplished and hopefyully inspire somebody else at a later time.

Here's the answers to your questions in hopes that you can better understand what I mean and what I'm trying to accomplish.

So I'd like to accomplish 3 things here:1) minimize my tax burden for 20162) start investing in rental properties3) make my wife happy with the purchase of a new home for our familyMy wife and I own one home; our current residence which we bought for $160k.

That is probably the shortest path to accomplish the goal here.  

Does anybody have any proven strategies to accomplish this?
